The Most Important Thing About a Catholic Wedding Day

What is the MOST important thing about a wedding day?

I never realized how often I would have this conversation with my brides. When you’re wedding planning, it is so easy to get caught up in all of the details! Most of my brides have been dreaming about their wedding day, since they were a child, so there can be a pressure for everything to be perfect! Especially with our culture and the culture regarding weddings and the wedding industry, it’s too easy to get lost in the details, especially leading up to a wedding day.

One of the biggest things I’ve discovered is that as a photographer, my job does not solely consist of taking photos. While that is an important a part of my job of course, a large part of my job is actually reading the room and being able to comfort/elevate the energy of the bride and groom.

The most IMPORTANT part of the wedding day??

🌟THE SACRAMENT🌟

something I like to remind my Catholic brides about as we are walking through the schedule of the wedding day is that as long as the bride, the groom, and the officiant make it into the church and the vows are said, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!

I know this may seem dramatic, but I remind brides of this often on their big day. It helps them (and me!) to refocus on the relationship, the love, and the sacrament, rather than the unpredictability or chaos that can sometimes quickly creep up on a busy day.

It is SO important to have a photographer who draws you CLOSER to the most intimate and beautiful moments of a wedding day, not one who distracts from them.
